The International Coffee Organization's June 2026 report presented two different pictures: the monthly average declined, yet the price path inside the month rebounded sharply. Professional buyers should look at both the average and the range through which an offer may move.

02

The ICO composite indicator averaged 248.90 US cents per pound in June, 2.8% below the previous month. It reached 231.96 cents on 9 June and then rose 17.4% to 272.39 cents by month-end. A quotation fixed at the beginning, middle or end of the month could therefore carry a very different exposure.

03

Export totals were comparatively stable, but the species mix was not uniform. The report showed softer Arabica exports and higher Robusta exports over the referenced twelve-month period. That shift can influence blend construction, value-tier pricing and competition between origins.

04

Build three scenarios for each enquiry: the preferred origin, an aligned origin alternative and, where the cup target allows it, a blend alternative. Keep physical and sensory acceptance points constant, state the offer-validity window and compare price beside sample, specification, preparation time and delivery terms.
